This exchange (and two days in the sun <g>) got me to think and adopt the
tack I often recommend here - i.e. if something seems too unwieldly or
complex it is likely that there is a better, simpler way. :-)
So, I've quit fighting and am going to go with the flow - I'll have a dialog
with a fixed size listbox on the left wherein a higlighted item causes a
tabbed dialog to be displayed on the right as outlined here:
