memory allocation problem

Hi,
I have an .exe file and its source in borlandc3.1 (for dos).
I can run the .exe file (which uses intrupt and direct port access) in
win98 without any problem, but I couldent execute its project and build that
.exe file myself.
By debuging the project, I 've found that it can not allocate any memory by
"malloc" and "far malloc".
what can I do?
