Major Microsoft Visual C++ .NET Problems

Hi everyone!

I have about 2 problems with Visual Studio .Net 2003. I have Microsoft
Visual C++ .NET and when I got it first, I did a complete install with
*all* components selected.

The first problem is that it no longer allows me to create .hpp and
..cpp files from the File => New => New File Dialog box, or anywhere
else. It used to, but they have now disappeared from the list of
available files types, as have a few others.

I couldn't find any references on the internet to correct this, so I
tried to allow the software to fix itself - this failed. So I
uninstalled it.

The second problem is with re-installing it. The first few times I
tried it just wouldn't install at all. I kept getting errors saying it
couldn't find the required file on the CD. I checked the CD, I cleaned
it, I checked the DVD drive, I cleaned the lens, used the DVD drive to
install other software (at the normal fast speed) and write multiple
CD's and DVD-R's all without problem.

EVENTUALLY I managed to do a full re-install, but it took the
installation program almost 5 hours to complete. But it did finish and
all the file types were available... Until today.

They have disappeared again. I've been trying to repair the program
using the CD's this time, but to no avail.

Initially I was getting Internal Error 2349. I did the fix suggested
on the Microsoft Website (to do with making sure I had the latest
version of cabinet.dll).

I tried the installation program again, even reinstalling the
pre-requisites, but to no avail. I am still getting Internal Error
2349 and it's running ******so****** slowly.

Here is the error log: vserror71.txt
