Hi Warren,
Thank you posting!
In order to dig into this issue, would you please provide more detailed
info about the problem?
1. Which VC product you use in this case? Which Windows platform you work
on?
2. What about the target process? Is it a VC++ program you developed, which
project type of it?
3. Can your VC debugger attach to some other application?
4. Does the case have any other particular environment/context?
The above information would help us to understand your problem. I
appreciate your time in checking them. Let me know the results at your
earliest convenience. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me
know. I am standing by to help you.
Thanks for your understanding!
Best regards,
Gary Chang

Note: The MSDN Managed Newsgroup support offering is for non-urgent issues
where an initial response from the community or a Microsoft Support
Engineer within 1 business day is acceptable. Please note that each follow
up response may take approximately 2 business days as the support
professional working with you may need further investigation to reach the
most efficient resolution. The offering is not appropriate for situations
that require urgent, real-time or phone-based interactions or complex
project analysis and dump analysis issues. Issues of this nature are best
handled working with a dedicated Microsoft Support Engineer by contacting
