What is the operating system? Is it Windows XP?
What message do you see on the screen when the crash is reported?
If there is a dialog, what buttons are enabled/disabled?
What are the values of the following Registry entries:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AeDebug
"Debugger"
"Auto"
