How To Install a True Type Font using a shortcut

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

I hope somebody can help me here...

I'm trying to build a VB app that would install a true type font by
creating a shortcut in the Fonts Folder. This is the method I prefer,
since it keeps the original file in c:\myfonts and thus avoids
duplicates.

All the examples I've seen so far about installing fonts
programmatically imply *copying* the .tff file to the Windows Fonts
folder. This is not what I want.

I've read the oft-mentioned "How to programmatically install a True
Type font in Visual FoxPro" by Microsoft at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;186722 but it's
not what I'm after.

I know there are some API calls involved, that's why I'm asking here.
Thanks.
