    this project is actually C, but it won't take you too much time to convert only
    the interesting functions you need..

    I wrote a tool that extracts the snmp name in visual basic in the "good old days"
    for windows NT, it required that you have snmp service installed on the computer
    in order for it to work.. i don't remember the exact code, but only that its about
    100 lines.. sorry.
