As I see it, it isn't as much someone suggesting VB.Net would be a better
choise, as the way of saying it. I don't expect this conversation we have
where VB.Net has been named many times will be flamed. On the other hand I
would expect that if a couple of others, CL or BMC, had this same talk.
There is, as we all say, nothing wrong with dotnet languages just for
beeing dotnet languages. It is the repeated postings of unrelated .Net
replies to Classic questions. For one of the MVP's it is also a fact that
he is posting, missleading replies, because he haven't a clue about the
syntax differences. Saying himself that he hasn't done much in VB Classic,
not even having it installed to test his suggestions before posting. Why
post then?
This kind of stuff lowers the flamepoint of most materials, even people.

This thread is a good example of someone being open to using the .Net
version and already having it, being met with a rant rather than a serious
discussion. These are the ones that get under my skin and cause me to
reply. I have never defended anyone who posts .Net answers in this group.
I will say, however, that I see interop questions as another area where cool
heads should prevail and appropriate help given to the poster.
Have a good day.
