On the contrary, they have to give away those weak "express" editions
because no one wants to actually buy it. If MSFT truly had confidence in
it's product, free versions would not be necessary because folks would
actually be buying it. If anything, they shot themselves in the foot with
the free versions because it gives those developers with an ounce of common
sense to reject it outright and move onto something more useful, like
Delphi...where end users of program written in that language do not have to
download hundreds of begabytes of runtime support.

Have you seen the size of the 4.0 Shamework? Makes 3.5 look miniscule in
comparison. Newer is better indeed. @@



Kevin... They give away free versions because their main competitors are not
commercial products. They are for the most part free.
