Mike William's post offers a reasonable explanation.
But you didn't answer the quesion....do you have, in
Explorer options, it set to show window contents while
dragging ? And if so, did you turn that off and see if it
makes a difference ?
At first glance I thought you were telling me that I hadn't answered the question, whereas in fact I had answered all questions in the post by Balduin Birger to which I was replying. But on reading your response again I can see that you are addressing your remarks about not answering the question to the OP. In fact if the 'show window contents while dragging' is turned off then the resize event will definitely be fired only once, when the user releases the mouse button on completion of the drag. In fact the code I posted in my own response achieves exactly that effect (the resize code itself only running once when the user releases the mouse button at the end of the drag) but it achieves it in a way that does not require him to turn off the 'show window contents while dragging' system setting. But I see where you are going with this though, and I'm still as intrugued as you appear to be about this 'two or three second' thing to which the OP has not yet provided the answer. Does his resize code (whatever it contains and whatever it draws) actually legitimately take such a long time to perform its task, or is he for some reason getting a lot more resize events than he thinks he is getting? Perhaps we'll be in a better position to answer all his questions when he provides us with the answer to that question?
Mike
