Re: OT--- Data recovery?

Your rant is needless and, perhaps too purist. It's a known fact that people
run to "familiar friends" when in distress. I really have no clue why you
are obsessed about this abandoned ship. Do MS care if we are dead or alive
here? Someone who has VB projects on ailing flash drive is trying to flag
down other "Vbers" for clue. It's Christmas. relax buddy.

Sorry for the OT but someone here's sure to know...

Ya know, that doesn't make it OK to post an off-topic question. There are
thousands of different newsgroups for a reason. People read the vb.*
newsgroups because they want to read and/or contribute to discussions
regarding VB, not data recovery. If they're interested in that, they'd read
whatever newsgroups are appropriate for that kind of discussion. If they're
not interested in that kind of discussion, they shouldn't have to read, or
even have to skip, something that's completely off-topic. Personally, I
don't give a rat's *** that you began the subject with "OT". That just
goes to show that you knew better but didnt' care.

I don't mean to be rude and I sympathize with your problem, but your post
was just "newsgroup abuse" and poor netiquette...and it irks me when someone
thinks "I'll post an off-topic question anyway". It's one thing when
off-topic posts happens because the poster doesn't know better. IMO, it's
unacceptable when it's intentional.

I'm done ranting, hope I didn't offend you. <g>
