Re: Vista makes me crazy, please help.

There are no troubles accessing folders - the ones you should be
accessing.

There you go again. You just don't seem to
be able to conceive of a stand-alone, owner-used
PC. What one "should" be accessing is not a relevant
concept outside of your world of sys. admin. security
concerns. What I "should" be accessing is whatever I
decide to access! It's just me, so if the admin me
created a "photos" folder I don't want the Lackey1 me
to be restricted from that folder. It's all me! And I can
trust myself. Capiche? So why should I struggle with
setting permissions on everything?

Your whole idea of security doesn't apply. Security for
a PC owner is protection from the external network. Security
on a corporate workstation is protection from the user of the
PC. The network is assumed to be safe. They're opposite
scenarios where you're trying to apply the same security
approach. That's why home/small office users want to
run as admin., because Microsoft is using the same
corporate workstation model for all Windows versions,
including the Home version, and it doesn't make sense.
To make matters worse, in more recent Windows versions
MS is taking the liberty of assigning themselves the role
of admin. for SOHo users.
