Hum, actually we did ask them what they did and sadly our IT department is in
India and owned by a group. No two people could recall what they did to
result in this service stopping. Generally, takes about 6 hours from the
point at which the server service is restarted for it to stop again.
Hard to run a production facility with a server that is to be collecting
production data and then stops allowing network connections.
Thank you for the advice on binding thou, have to see what we can do.

You'll need to bind file and printer sharing to at least one active.
connection. If a service stops unexpectedly then check the event log for
clues. For the second issue you'll have to ask them what they did.

Have a windws 2003 enterprise server that daily stops it's server
services.
Out tech support tried to remedy this by editing something in the registry
but not we can't even restart the service.
Any suggestions on why this service would stop in the first place and what
would be our best recourse to keep it running in the furture.
