Are you clairvoyant? How do know what OP is equipped to do?

Perhaps by reading the question and seeing which groups it was posted to

¤ If the OP was equipped to deal with VB.NET then they would have (also)

¤ in a VB.NET forum.

Perhaps they're evaluating whether to use VB 6.0 or VB.NET. You don't know
what the OP is equipped
to deal with because he never indicated such.

PERHAPS? Sir, you are either clutching at straws to justify yourself, or you
are an idiot.
Anyway if they were evaluating both they should ask the same question in
both forums and see which language gave the better solution for them, so
even in that tenuous scenario it is not justified to give a .NET reply in
the VB6 forum (or vice-versa).

It is easy for a competent forum user to indicate if he or she has adequate
knowledge to use another language and is at home with interop.
This might be hard for you to understand but it is not tricky to get a rough
idea of a posters ability from the sort of question they ask and the way
they ask it.
Someone asking simple "noob" type questions is not likely to be fully versed
in other languages and interop.
Someone posting a detailed, complex or obscure question to multiple forums
for multiple languages will however almost certainly be happy to accept a
solution in pretty much any language.
