much closer to VB6 than any .Net language would be.
Yes, and I remember seriously looking at that alternative. It is even closer
to VBScript. I decided against it because it is even farther from .NET. I
decided instead to figure out how to install the runtime needed to support
my existing embedded vb app, at least for now.
I managed to convert my app to .NET, but with no support for transferring
pocket Access databases, I had no way to bring data from the handheld to the
network (SQL Server) save a very complex process with SQL on the handheld
that I couldn't possible setup for remote customers in an install program.
Some day I will invent my own process using text files to sync data between
the handheld and SQL server, after which I can use my VB.NET version of the
app.
