If you want to use new technology, use C#, not VB.NET. VB.NET is an elegant
pampering of C#, not more. Today I development production software using C#
and VB6 (real Visual Basic).

I know this has been hashed many times in recent years. But I'm curious as
to how this is seen TODAY as VB6 continues to grow older and older.
I've spent my last several years just trying to get the hang of VB6. Many
of your here are incredible programming pros that have me at awe. While my
occupation is not in any way that of a programmer, I do enjoy it when I
have the time to work it. Unfortunately, time is so little these days.
Because of time contraints and new technologies, I don't want to find
myself buried in oblivion after all the effort I have put into this so
far. So I'm just wondering, do you see VB6 as having or coming close to
running out of use? Would it be wiser to start investing time into VB.NET?
If I were a professional programmer, I suppose I'd know the answer to
this. But I am not and I don't, but I do have concerns.
Sorry to open the same can of worms again. But I'm thinking the previous
discussion on this is a bit dated and things do change.
Thanks.
