It might be free, but it wasn't inherent to or present on any of my systems
in work recently. I had to install it on every machine - most Win 2000
boxes....

And I've got a question, If an .Net app requires 1.1 framework and I've got
the 2.0 Framework installed, will it work OK, or do I need both frameworks
installed? Being a VB6 Guy - I don't know.... I've been getting a mix of
.NET apps lately from other departments and am not sure what's required.
I'll take a lack of response as telling me to ask this in a .NET group - so
no one needs to post up the usual verbiage....
You need 1.1, too. Just install everything Microsoft has all the time and
you never have to worry about anything. Hard drives are much bigger today.
Machines that don't do windows update regularly and don't have stuff pushed
out through a local update server, probably won't have the various net
frameworks. When people keep their machines updated properly, the frameworks
will be there. Visual Studio 2008 uses .net 3.5 by default, and 3.5 isn't
being sent by windows update at this time. But you can choose .net 2.0, and
that should be on the target machine.
This is a VB6 group and I love VB6. In another twenty years when I have
Alzheimers disease, at least my long term memory will be in tact, and I will
still love VB6.
