It might be free, but it wasn't inherent to or present on any of my systems in work recently. I had to install it on every machine - most Win 2000 boxes....

And I've got a question, If an .Net app requires 1.1 framework and I've got the 2.0 Framework installed, will it work OK, or do I need both frameworks installed? Being a VB6 Guy - I don't know.... I've been getting a mix of ..NET apps lately from other departments and am not sure what's required. I'll take a lack of response as telling me to ask this in a .NET group - so no one needs to post up the usual verbiage....

The .Net is inherent to Windows. It's already present on
each workstation/PC.
Really? The version of the .NET Framework that VB2008 requires is already on
my Windows XP or Vista systems? When did it get put there?
You can select the 2.0 framework if desired. Or you can install the bigger,
better, and more wonderful framework. It's free whichever the case.
