hi, I am a beginner, simple know some basics of java and Html. wanted
to start learning programming. Not sure where to start. I am goona
learn Visial C # next semester.
I'm with Bob. If you're already set to take a class on C# in the near
future, starting learning that now and be ahead of the game. You'll find
that many concepts you learn while studying one programming language carry
through to other programming languages. In many cases, the only difference
is the syntax of the language. Concepts are frequently (not always) the
same.
So, once you "master" one programming language, learning other programming
languages is usually considerably easier. Of course, there are exceptions.
VB "classic" (meaning VB6 and earlier) and VB.NET don't really have too much
in common and .NET in and of itself requires learning new and different
concepts than have been used in the past (past meaning pre-.NET). That's one
reason (IMO) why .NET really hasn't become...."standard".....even today,
about 8 years after its introduction.
