Reg Free COM in VB6. Is it possible?

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I want to use Reg Free COM, it sounds like a great idea and I
understand the high level reasons behind it. My questions is this
though: I am not using .NET at all, can I still use it?

I have a VB6 application which uses several other components written
in both MFC/ATL and VB6. A fairly standard application. Can I develop
a manifest for the VB6 application that will allow me to use RegFree
COM and thereby allow my application to work in a completely isolated
manner without the registry or the need to be admin to install it?

Is it even possible to have some sort of .NET launching application
that loads the relevant DLL/OCXs from the manifest before launching
the application? I have read posts that say this is not possible but I
thought it would make sense if it were. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Cheers

Colin
