Yup. Very first line of the wiki said it was a US group, and searching
through the rest of it, I found no reference to Canada whatsoever. As I
said, it was before my time, so I'm not really in a position to comment.

Not sure what you meant about the turn 90 degrees...is that another
reference from before my time, or is it something I'm just not cluing in to?

D'oh!

Reading a little further into the wiki article after posting my
message, I see that they didn't wait for another Republican. New
students re-founded the group in 2006, with the help of some of its
old members. Good for them! (Woops, I think my Left is showing. <g>)

Well, let's see...looking them up on wikipedia, it turns out that I
was born a year after they dissolved, so that covers the "youth"
part. I was also born & raised in Canada, and while that may not
directly cover the campuses part, since it was a US-based group, I
think that covers it indirectly anyway. :)

If you guys get anther hard-core Republican after Bush, though, I
wouldn't be at all surprised to see a revival of the group pop up.

What's SDS?

Uh, oh! You're showing your youth for sure!! Or else, you were
smart enough to avoid campuses ;-].

Well you're a brave one, I'll say that for you. But since you're pure
Cahnadahian, I guess it's OK; just turn about 90 degrees and no one'll
notice. Eh? <g>

I'm too trashed to read Wiki's right now, but did it really say it was
just US? It originated in the US certainly, but I'm nearly positive parts
of it crossed the border, esp cities like Vancouver, whatever it is across
from Detroit, can't get it right now, Toronto & Ottawa. You know, the
"borders, what borders?" crowd? Can't remember who the PM was then but I
did at the time.
Didn't know it resurfaced in '06 though. Maybe I'm wise enough to just
not care so much these days. Oh well, who knows what's next.

Cheers, eh?
