Odd coming from you mike. You should just admit that
your initial statements were wrong, you'll feel better.

Do you mean my initial statement about the Corvette, where I was right and you were wrong, or my initial statement about the incompatibility of VB.Net, where you were wrong and I was right? Or perhaps my initial statement in the thread, which is the latter, and where you were wrong? ;-)

The simple fact is that VB.Net is NOT a natural progression from VB6, and for you to tout it as effectively being VB7 and to say things like, "VB.net is VERY much like VB6" is just plain wrong! I've got at least a thousand VB6 projects on my machine, some of them fairly major projects and many of them small testbed programs and some of them just a few lines long, and not a single one of them will compile and run in VB.Net!!! Okay, I can modify them to make them run, if I wish to do so, but that is not the point. I could also modify them so that they will run under Delphi. The fact that they ALL need to be modified is the key issue.

You know as well as I do that VB.Net is a different language that has been deliberately and specifically peppered with lots of "Basic sounding" constructs in an attempt to sell it to the masses by pretending it is something it is not! Just admit it. You'll feel better ;-)
