I installed sql 2005 compact Edition. There are no other servers installed.
Everytime I try to connect, iot asks me for provider, a server and a database.
I use SQL Server Provider - there is no oledb provider for the compact
edition (unless I need extra files). So, I don't see any servers.
I'm using the latest files for:
ADO (2.8)
SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition (spanish version).
..NET Framework 2.0
The system is a genuine Microsoft Windows XP.
What else do I need?

Hi, all:C#).
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition is supposed to be much liter and
faster than Microsoft SQ Server Express Edition(or MSDE) - but all the
reading I've seen, including SQLBOL for CE, is about Visual Basic.NET(or
It looks like we are finally dead(¿?)for
I know you can connect to SQL Express Edition through ADO with VB6, in the
same way you do for MySQL (by the way there is a new ADO-like connector
MySQL), but - now that I'm in hell accoding to Microsoft Standards(because
it's hell, you know), How can I connect to this fabulous Ms SQL 2005Compact
Edition which you can ship with your applications usin VB6!!!any
I wonder if it's any faster that MS Access!!!
I installed MS SQL CE on my machine, with a sample database. I don't see
server and I suppose I use OLE DB fopr SQL Server. And next? (no server, you
know - just a database).
What's the question?
To use SQL Express Compact Edition use the OLE DB Provider that comes with
it. Can't get to the disk or install at the moment, so I don't know the
exact name. Use the Data Link utility to find and connect.
MySQL has had several Ole Db Providers published for it. None has worked
well. Let's hope the new does. But what has that got to do with anything?
What's the real problem?
