Assume for the moment that you had not spent years developing with a
particular language. And assume that M$oft was honourable <g> and would
support both indefinitely.

Which you then go for, and why?

All other external factors being equal, I'd say it would come down to the specific
application requirements. I could swing generalities around like a dead cat, but
that's all they'd be.

In general, desktop apps meant for wide distribution or that are computationally
intense, especially those with proprietary algorithms, are more suited to unmanaged
code. Web-centric apps of a short-term (disposable) nature that lack anything
computational other than foofy UIs, are good candidates for managed code. Flame on.
