vb6 -v- Net!

In one or two sentences, can regulars explain concisely to this novice why
vb.Net is inferior to vb6, rather than tackle the wider issues such as
ongoing support possibly being removed *again*, what they think of M$oft
etc. I am not paying devil's advocate. After about 650 hours getting to know
vb6, I am a very firm enthusiast! But I want to know whether my time would
be better spent learning .Net. I'm sure I know the opinions of most here,
but I would like concrete reasons that just focus on usability and not
previous wasted development years etc.
I already have an excellent summary from one regular (YKWYA), but would like
to know what the rest of you think. Thanks in advance.
