Developer Use of Visual Basic Plummets

Ive been visiting this newsgroup for over 5 years now and I remember a time
when there was 300+ posts most days. Nowadays its definately a lot less;
sometimes below 100 posts (and some of them are often dotnet related). Im
talking weekdays of course. I dont visit the VBNet groups much so dont know
whats going on there. A recent Evans Data survey shows that the use of
Microsoft's Visual Basic among developers is down significantly, but
Microsoft says otherwise:

This survey states developer use of the Visual Basic family has dropped off
by 35 percent since last spring. Thats a huge figure! I dont want to start
another vbNet - vbClassic debate. I am a hobbyist programmer and dont work
in a programming environment or even meet any developers so am curious what
you guys actually see in the real world. Naturally MS the business will tell
us what they want us to think but what do you really see happening first
hand. Are people generally using VB6 less? Are the VBNet users declining? Is
this survey a true reflection of what you see happening?
