As MP once said in microsoft.public.vb.general.discussion
do you have any recommendations for additional layers of protection?
unplug the internet :P
spybot s&d
adaware (lavasoft.com) some claim this IS spyware, but I use
it and have not found that to be the case.
in a corporate environment (ie, a larger budget) there're are
numerous software and hadware solutions (e.g.firewalls, security
policies, user training, no scratch that...) that can be employed.
Your mention of avg is the first negative comment I've ever seen about
that one.
it's not a negative, just a fact of life. I could write a trojan, put it
on my website, you download and install it...you're fault, not you av's.
(if that's the one I'm thinking of...by some russian<?> guy or so???
Kaspersky???)
No idea of what you're thingking about, avg is by grisoft, best
I can tell out of the Czech Republic. I like it cause I'm cheap
and they have a free version.
....what about that external drive...did it work? if so I'd say your
usb ports weren't totally gone...are you sure your working on the right
problem?
.
