college assignment

Hey guys, i am pretty new to VB, and am in my access year to HND, i
have been given an assigment but i dont really understand how to do
it. so i'll just write it as its written and hope you can give me some
ideas on it :

Task 1

a. Describe the software development cycle (Initial Study, Systems
Analysis, System design, Program Development, Implementation,
maintenance)
b. Explain the stages of program development and testing (Design,
Coding, Testing, Documentation)

Task 2

a. Describe the principles and benefits of modular program design
b. Describe a programming environment (entry of source code, conversion
to object code or interpretation, running the program, finding errors).

Task 3

a. Describe typical program documentation
o Program specification
o Design
o Source code listing
o Test Plan and Results
o User Instructions
b. Relate typical documents to the example program
(1.4, 3.1)

Task 4

a. Describe program control constructs
o Iteration
o Selection
o Subroutines

b. Define program variables and data types.
c. Identify constructs and variables in the example program


(2.2, 2.3, 3.2)

Task 5

a. Use a test plan to test the example program.
b. Find errors in the source code of the example program.


Would be great if anyone could give me any feedback on this, i have
managed to do task one, but i am pretty lost as to what to include in
task 2, Thx in advance for any help ... .Glen!!
