Since I did not ask any VB.Net questions, nor have I advocated the asking
of VB.Net questions in this NG (exactly the opposite as you see above)...
Uh, what did you mean by this line then...
"I would say this group is for VB developers,
not any specific version of the language"
if not to imply it was alright to mix VB-Classic and VB.NET questions as
well as discussions?
I implied nothing. I said exactly what I meant and your trimming down my
words until they fit your preconception does not change that. Asking a
VB.Net question here would be like asking a science question in a
scientology NG.
A "general discussion" group should be for discussions, which is how this
thread began. Contradicting the original poster, along with those that
followed, and informing fellow "Classic VB" developers that the newest
edition of VB.Net is not as bad as previous versions should hardly be
considered OT. Up until last year I was still using VB6 with all of its
limitations because of how bad previous versions of VB.Net have been. I was
happy to find out that I was no longer stuck in a dead language. Sorry if I
that is not welcome news to others in this group. Perhaps you want to keep
this information hidden? Maybe you want to encourage the .Net haters? You
guys are acting like the Catholic Church of the middle ages, worried that
the throngs might find out the Earth is neither flat nor the center of the
universe.
Welcome to the 21st century...
Rick
