Transparent box over textbox

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Does any one know an easy way of drawing a transparent box to overlie a
textbox, as a kind of selection box.
Lightweight controls such as shape, image do not work as they are drawn
under the textbox.
The textbox has no DC so it is difficult to draw on textbox itself.

TIA
