You are essentially correct as my example was incomplete. You can use
Shell
by launching cmd (command will not work), ie, my example should have been

Shell( "cmd /C MyWord.doc")
But anyway you look at it, the results are ***-ugly using Shell as you
get
a blank 'DOSPrompt'. I should never have mentioned it as an option.
