ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!! F'ing Clueless Newb...!

The file i/o used in MSBasic has remained essentially the same for over 30
years now. "Consistency of the language", huh?

To be honest, they revised the syntax
- the short version Open "I", #Channel, "FileName"
.... got lost somewhere in VB

as did 'Field'

Run along, troll.

He ought to look at what the author of VB.Nyet used to do
- Anders Hejlsberg did a pretty good job on Delphi

- the Help files 'deprecate' using native filing constructs
- but when you drill down, the object oriented filing goes straight
for the ... APIs

- sometimes the best Object is a file handle
- oddly enough Windows is written like that

It baffles me why Mike C is trolling
- if he wanted such constructs in VB he is capable of writing them

Baffling
.
