I think you hit the proverbial nail on the head with regards to the MS VB
Development team.
This is reason enough to use C# instead of vb.net.

It's also more than reason enough to jump ship and run screaming from
microsoft unless you like the concept of rewriting your entire library
from scratch periodically all at someone else's whim. And yes, for me
just the possibility that that might happen is enough since they've
already demonstrated that it's apparently a frighteningly easy decision
for them to make whenever they deem it necessary. I just don't care for
those odds.
