Definitely d/l Express 05 :) .Net has been out for many years now, and
to
learn VB 6 would be instantly putting yourself back several years. Also,
Microsoft Certifications have already expired for the VB 6 route. I found
some excellent free step-by-step learning videos for Express a while ago,
and I'll dig them back up and post the URL.

Thats what I figured. Thanks

Personally, I learned VB from Microsoft Press Step-By-Step books... they
are
excellent, although one must get used to not having everything completely
explained, due to the beginner level. Therefore, (and the same goes for
all
learning) it requires a "leap of faith" in many places and it will come
clear after a little more experience. If you don't quite understand
something, don't just put it away; keep going. :-) Just do your best and
you
will constantly make head-way!

I just couldn't get a handle on the code. I can design just about
anything,
but I would stare at the code for hours. It was always something stupid
too.

I'll post the URL to those videos in a little bit after I find them
again...

I'll check back later.

Good luck!

A few years back I attempted to learn Visual Basic. I didn't follow
through
with it and now I'm thinking of trying again. I have Visual Studio
6.0.
But
I was looking at Microsofts web site, and saw a free download of Visual
Basic
2005 Express. Would this be a wise idea or should a just stick with
Visual
Studio 6.0? Also I would like some direction. How did most of you
learn
Visual Basic? Mike
