USB-Memorystick - serial number

Hi to all,

does somebody know how to read the serial number of an USB-Memorystick (Flash-memory). This serial is told to be unique and can not be altered after been written (along with the VID, PID etc) by the stick-manufacturer to the stick's USB-controller .
