Decompress UNIX archive

I have a fairly large set of data files in .tar.gz (or .tar.Z) format that
I'd like to open through an existing VB interface through the use of an .ocx
or .dll. I've downloaded and tested several to no avail.

The file opens just fine in WinZip (WinZip correctly identifies the included
..tar file and asks if I want to extract the contents -- and all works just
peachy). Since users may very well not have WinZip, shelling out is simply
not an option here and I'd like to be able to handle these archives and
perform the necessary data actions in one fell swoop.

If anyone has had any luck, please let me know where I can go. I'd be more
than happy to provide you an example archive (although they're quite lengthy
at 28MB for the smallest one I have).

Thanks!
Evan
