Help: random, untrappable error

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

I'm using Winsock to retrieve some data from a website. Occasionally my app
and the VB IDE will crash without showing an error of any description (not
even an XP access violation). The whole lot will just vanish.

Can anyone offer any advice about how to identify/solve the problem.
