I'm not even sure where to begin searching for this. My client has a phone
switch in their networking closet. There is an RJ-45 (normal network cable)
jack on it -- this thing supposedly sends out data whenever a call is dialed
or received on any line in that switch. I'm not even sure I got that
terminology correct.
Basically, I want to take that RJ-45 output and plug in a network cable so
that there is a direct connection from the switch to a computer (network
cable of course).
If I do that, how would I go about receiving the data that is sent out via
that jack? If it was a comm port, then I'd just use the mscomm control and
all would be good, but I don't know about this one...maybe the winsock
control?
Anyone know what I mean?
Matt
