Without more information about what components or "system files" it is
complaining about - a wild guess would be you are attempting to install
"system files" that are protected by Windows File Protection (WFP).
You got away with the install on Win95/98/me because there is no protection
and you were able to replace the original files.
You got away with it on XP systems because the files were "not out of date".

That said - it is likely you don't need to update the "system files". Try
installing and running your application with them.
