Sorry, I'm late.
www.datenhaus.de/Downloads/antsim.zip (ca. 880KB)

contains the Simulator and an "Ant-Editor", the complete Source and most of
the "Ant-Definition-Files" of the participants as they were posted into the
discussion-list after the contest (that's the main-part of the
download-file).
interesting populations so far: (just a few)
"frictionless_bananas"
"roadcrew"
"redteam" (one of the few "aggressives" - more an offender)
"defendant" (and another aggressive variety - stronger in the defense)
"dunkosmiloolump" (fastest Food-Collector - beets most of the other ants
through speed)

The sources were not exhaustive commented, but I think that's ok, because of
the detailed task-description.
There are no VB-Speed-Tricks per API or ASM inside, the code should be
clean, to show (ICFP-conform) the possibilities of the language. Ok, one
API-Call is inside (StretchDIBits for comfortable visualizing a
BackBuffer-Pixel-Array).

It doesn't contain my own ants, they still have to stay in the
"training-camp" for a while ;-).
The opinion in the discussion-list was, that succesful populations should be
more "fast food-collectors" in place of "soldiers".
I think, that a higher aggressivity is pretty useful for a good strategy.
Would be nice, if there would grow some more ants from the VB-Gene-Pool ;-).

Enjoy... :-)
