Don't make that assumption. My "expertise" (if we can call it that) is
limited to a relatively small subset of what is available in VB; you
(and many, many other individuals) may possess far more total VB
knowledge than I do.

Personally, I don't consider any seriously offered question or
suggestion as "stupid"... ever.

I don't see why something like that wouldn't work. It would avoid the
subclassing route (but at the expense of some small amount of system
resources I would guess).

The control, once added to the project, might provide some additional
functionality which isn't provided for in the API call you cited that
the OP might find useful. Of course, we have no way of knowing that.<g>
