Hi thanks for your post.. but I may have not specified my problem clearly.. i'll try again.. the shell statement i posted DOES work.. but it is accessing a simple Access db.. i was wondering how i would incorporate the username and password necessary to access the secure db (that i need to access).. it has an associated .MDW file and in order to access the db I must give the username and password. Thanks again for your help!
