to VB6. I bought it used off of eBay (can't find it anywhere else!), and
received it today. Everything was fine, except it asked me to insert the
MSDN CD to install the Help Files. I didn't get an MSDN CD with VB6. I
contacted the guy I bought it from, and he said that VB6 didn't come with
it. I don't think he's a liar, as he has been quite friendly and honest so
far, but is it true that VB6 doesn't come with any help at all???? That
sounds crazy. If it helps, it is VB6 Professional, with SP5.

That's the danger of buying software from eBay....you really can't be sure
of the seller and that the software is being resold legitimately.

Yes, VB6 Pro does include MSDN Library.....albeit, it is a "lite" version of
the full MSDN Library (it's called "Visual Studio 6 - A Edition" or
something like that; I know it's definately distinguished as an "A" edition,
although it might be a lower case "a"). However, since this is officially
part of VB6 Pro, not having it means that what you got is incomplete, and
therefore, not legal.

Just curious, but what do the discs looks like? I mean, is it obvious a
label was just placed on the disc? Original discs from MS should be
embossed and original MS discs are what you should have received if the
"sale" can be considered legal. And how many discs did you get?

I think you should contact the seller again and politely let him know that
you "suspect" that what you got is incomplete (don't make accusations, but
do tell him of your concerns). It very well could be an honest mistake and
that he just overlooked giving you the MSDN CD. If he gives you any sh**
about anything, contact eBay.
