VB6 front end to SQL Server Express 2008

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

I have very little experience with any version of SQL Server but quite
a bit using mdb files. But I now have a requirement to build a
database application where there will be upwards of 500 new records
being made per day. Based on the amount of data being captured I
estimate that an mdb based system will begin to sweat big time in
three to six months. So I am looking for an alternative and up popped
SQL Server 2008 Express in my research.

I have never used it but I understand it can be used via VB6. I'd like
to hear from anyone who has done so and, if possible, see some web
links to some tutroials or any other help.
