Thanks to both.
I bundled all the Crystal DLL's I could find and that solved the issue
EXCEPT PDF exporting which still failed - until I read somewhere that
there are 2 versions of crtslv.dll and ExportModeller.dll installed on
the PC.
One set in the Seagate Software folder and an updated set in the
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Crystal Decisions\2.0\Bin\ folders.
These are the DLL's needed for exporting to PDF.

You need the merge module for client run time files. You can try
getting this from Crystal's site, but I don't believe they support 8.5
any longer. The dll files you need are in the system 32 directory and
they all start with U2. You should find them on a machine with the
crysatl designer installed. The one for exporting pdf's has pdf in the
title. Just search for u2*pdf*.dll
.
