Need Help with Report in CR 8.5

Hi all,
I'm fairly new to CR and I was hoping if I can get some pointers on how
I should do a report.
Basically the report will provide a "delivery date" for containers
based on the criteria by following these rules:
First, Any containers that have an purchase order (PO) is marked as an
Event and Demand it will be issued the "delivery date" 3-5 days
(highest % first) from the date the report was run.
Second, if the container is not marked event or demand, and it has "A"
(a field in DB) level sku will be issued the "delivery date" based on
the highest %.
Third, if the container does not meet "First" or "Second" it will be
issued the delivery date based on the "in warehouse date" for the
container.
Forth, if the container does not meet "First", "Second", or "Third", it
will be issued the delivery date based on the "Free time date" (also in
DB) for the container.
Now, the problem I'm having is that I can't prep the data and then base
the report on the preped data (like I'm use to in MS-Access). I am able
to get the % tages for "First" and "Second" conditions; but I can't
seem to figure out how ti assign the "delivery date".
Anyone have any idea how I can do this in CR 8.5.
