CR XI Tif image background color

I downloaded CRXI for evaluation and created a report with a tif image
on it. Each time i refresh the report the background color of the image
changes to a different color. In fact when the image is first placed on
the report it always has a colored background. If I place a bmp on the
report the background is always white (as desired). I have tried
several different tif images, that when opened outside of CR all have a
white/transparent background, but these same tif images have a color
that changes when added to CR.

Has anyone experienced this behavior? Or does anyone know of a solution
for this?
