In Crystal 10, I have a report that runs well, but needs one more
field from a different table. When I add that table, the report goes
blank. When I remove the offending table the report stays blank.
1. So I reloaded the original report that runs, and copied the SQL
statement from the Main Menu -> Database -> Show SQL Query, and pasted
it into a database query tool, and it ran fine.
2. Then I added the offending new table, copied the new SQL from
Crystal, and pasted it to my query tool, and it was broken.
3. But here's the freaky thing... When I deleted the offending table
from Crystal, the SQL changed again, but still very different from the
original SQL, and still broken. (wouldn't you think you could add a
table, and instantly remove it, and the SQL should revert to the
original SQL? Not so!)
4. So I decided to track down the error. I added the table back in
Crystal, linked it up correctly, copied the SQL to my query tool (and
as I expected, it was broken)... so I fixed the SQL to work in my
query tool...
5. But now I don't know how to get it back into Crystal. In older
versions, I could just paste it back into the place I got it. In
crystal 10 it is greyed out, so I can copy it, but I can't change it.
Does anyone know if this is a known bug? Has anyone found a fix for
this?
When I go to Business Object site to see if they have any hotfixes, I
can find plenty of fixes for Crystal 9 and below, but no hot fixes for
crystal 10.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Zhandra
