I think you hit the problem on the head. I was running CE9 on a development
machine XP Pro, Pentium 4 2GHz CPU with
512 MB of RAM.

A dedicated server box would probably offer up much better performance.

In my situation, since I had already coded against the Crystal API, I made a
quick decision to stick with it rather than to
explore all the potential of CE9.

Of course with 10 coming out I'm not sure what we are going to do. I've
heard that CR10 has two versions with their respective
API's. One for report viewing and one for report creation + report viewing.
The second, I've heard, is very, very expensive.

Of course we could always just download the merge modules, install on our
development machines and then just code blind... ;)
