Hello,

I am encountering users asking simple questions that often apply to good ole
VB or a related control.

Instead of getting help, I see "MVP" titled people telling them they are
posting to the wrong group (labeled multiposter or cross-poster when they
posted to a specific group...)

Hopefully the answers others have given help answer that

Whats up with that, are you moderators, or do you need to meet some kind of
microsoft support posts per hour quota?

Neither, but you will find that the MVPs here (and non MVPs)
have been posting to newsgroups for many years, they know
the rules, they know good Netiquete and they know that by
directing new people to these same rules that they are
helping the poster.

Why not just help them or stay silent if other VB6 users could benefit?

We *are* helping them. Prolific multiposters will get kill
filtered and they will find the pool from which they are
attempting to draw soon drys up, directing them to the
correct group means they will get answers from experts in
that feild as opposed to those with a little passing
knowledge.

I'm guessing your new to newsgroups, these are not new
rules, or specific to these groups.

Hang around for while and hopefully you'll see the logic
behind all this for yourself.
